How we work

RNLI lifeguards keep beach-goers safe by providing a rescue service as well as safety education and first aid.

Running costs

Our running costs average around £330,000 €484,510) a day. For every £1 raised, 78p is spent on operations, 3p is spent on support and 19p is spent on fundraising.

Life first

The RNLI aims to double the size of our lifeguarding service over 3 years so that every UK region that needs lifeguard cover on its beaches has seasonal patrols.
